Art & Ideas: In Conversation with Rebecca Basciano
Thursday, November 16 @ 7:00 PM
Free | In-person event at JNAAG I Registration required
Within the context of the exhibition A Family Palette, curator Rebecca Basciano explores the artistic career of under-represented artist Frances-Anne Johnston (1910-1987), one of Canada’s foremost painters of still lifes, flowers, and interiors. Positioned as a feminist recovery project, this lecture is the result of extensive primary research, creating new space for the appreciation and validation of an artistic practice that was shaped by domestic realities, including motherhood.
